Dry socket doesn’t mean your mouth is “too dry.”

After a tooth extraction, a blood clot forms in the socket to protect the underlying bone and nerves while the area heals. If that clot is lost or dissolves too early, the bone and nerves can become exposed causing the intense pain associated with dry socket.
