Matta Family Dental values education and having every team member learn as much and do as much as they are able. Both Stephanie and Amy are already EFDA (expanded functions) level 1 assistants, able to perform many procedures beyond a basic dental assistant.

On Friday, they took time on their day off to get additional training for the EFDA level 2 function of placing sealants! Sealants are a protective coating placed in pits and grooves of back teeth, intended to prevent decay. We are so proud of them for pursuing additional education to make them even better assistants and help our patients!

The Matta Family Dental team is spending our Thursday and Friday at the Iowa Dental Association state dental meeting! We are soaking up knowledge, learning about new topics and expanding our understanding of subjects we have experience in already (and having a little fun while we're at it!). Yesterday evening, the Matta Family Dental team enjoyed Celebrate Adel, the annual Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce dinner to honor the accomplishments of the chamber and all its members for the year. We had a wonderful time enjoying all the delicious tastes of Adel and are looking forward to all the opportunities 2026 will bring! Thank you to Country Lane Lodge for a beautiful venue and the Chamber for hosting such a great event!

We are celebrating a happy belated National Hygienists Week! Hygienists are incredibly important members of a dental team. They check for and treat gum disease, provide preventive cleanings to help patients avoid gingivitis and gum disease, and educate patients extensively.

We are so grateful for our amazing hygienists, Megan, Hanna (not pictured as she is on maternity leave), and introducing the newest member of our team, Brooke!
