Stay the course. Sometimes the best transformations can’t be rushed.

This was an amazing—but complex—full-mouth rehabilitation.

Years of clenching and grinding had taken a significant toll on this patient’s teeth and bite. Creating a beautiful smile was important, but first we needed to rebuild a healthy, stable foundation.

Treatment required multiple sets of temporary restorations as we transitioned from natural teeth, to a combination of teeth and dental implants, and ultimately to implant-supported restorations.

Along the way, I also opened the patient’s bite to establish a healthier and more stable occlusion. The temporaries allowed us to carefully evaluate the new bite, function, tooth position, and esthetics before committing to the final result.

I worked alongside an amazing periodontist, Dr. Andrew Diamond, who expertly placed the implants for me to restore.

We spent a lot of time making sure the bite was stable and healthy before completing the final smile—and it was definitely worth the wait!

Complex cosmetic dentistry is about more than making teeth look beautiful. It’s about combining esthetics, function, implant dentistry, and careful bite reconstruction to create a smile designed to last.

Is the joy in completing the case, or the friends we made along the way?

I guess a little bit of both. Dentistry, is obviously pretty up close and personal. At the same time, the emphasis is really on the personal- especially the cases that require time and several visits. We get to know you, you get to know us. Our shared interests, hobbies, and our family lives.

It is a blessing to be able to share the experience with you. It’s never transactional- always deeply personal, especially the longer cases. I’m in this with you. Forever connected to your smile…. and I think that’s the way it should be.

✨ A smile transformation built on function first.

This case is a perfect example of how cosmetic dentistry is about much more than creating beautiful teeth—it’s about restoring a healthy, balanced bite.

When teeth are in an unfavorable position, they can wear down much faster than normal. Over many years, this excessive wear can cause what’s known as a collapsed bite, where the teeth become shorter and the smile loses both function and esthetics.

Rather than simply placing veneers or crowns on worn front teeth, we first addressed the underlying problem.

Using a digital smile design, we planned the entire case before treatment began. We conservatively restored the back teeth with bonded composite fillings to increase the vertical dimension of the bite, creating the ideal space to restore the front teeth. The patient was then able to “test drive” both the bite and smile before the final restorations were completed.

The final result combined custom porcelain veneers and porcelain crowns, carefully selected based on the needs of each individual tooth. Every restoration was designed to look natural while restoring strength, proper function, and long-term stability.

The result is more than a beautiful smile—it’s a healthier bite, improved function, and renewed confidence.

Cases like this remind me why I love cosmetic dentistry. The best smile makeovers don’t just change how a smile looks—they change how it works.
