✨ ✨
Logan’s transformation is about so much more than straight teeth—it is a beautiful example of how orthodontics can impact a patient’s smile, facial balance, function, airway, and overall quality of life. 💙
Orthodontists naturally pay close attention to the teeth and bite, but our doctors’ advanced training also allows them to look at the bigger picture—how a patient’s jaws are positioned, how they breathe, how they sleep, and how all of those pieces work together.
For Logan, treatment required an interdisciplinary approach. Dr. Westfall worked closely with Dr. Zoghby, DDS, of Commonwealth Oral & Facial Surgery to coordinate orthodontic treatment with orthognathic surgery, including advancement of the lower jaw. This helped create a healthier jaw relationship and more harmonious facial proportions while also improving the space behind the tongue—an important consideration when evaluating the airway.
Throughout Logan’s orthodontic treatment, Dr. Westfall used his advanced training in Pitts Protocols to carefully position the teeth and brackets, with special attention to increasing upper incisor display, developing a beautiful smile arc, creating smile width, and harmonizing the smile with Logan’s facial features.
The result is a transformation we are incredibly proud of: a healthy, functional bite, a broad and confident smile, improved facial balance, and a treatment plan designed with both aesthetics and airway awareness in mind.
Cases like Logan’s also remind us why interdisciplinary dental care matters so much. When orthodontists, oral surgeons, and other healthcare providers work together, we have the opportunity to make a truly meaningful difference in a patient’s life.
We are honored Logan trusted our team with his care—and so excited for him to enjoy this incredible new smile. ✨
