For years, David had a smile he learned to hide. Now try getting him to stop showing it. 🤍

If you watched David’s journey with us, you already know why this before and after means a little more.

After losing his teeth following years of bullying, David kept his warmth and his connection to life. Smiling, however, became something he gradually left behind.

His smile restoration at Vera Smile included 28 zirconium crowns, planned to restore his smile while keeping the final design suited to his individual features.

And now we have these two photographs.

The dental change is clear. But what we keep looking at is David himself, smiling openly, pointing at the result and clearly enjoying every second of it.

David never gave up on life. Somewhere along the way, he just forgot how to smile.

He had lost his teeth following years of bullying. Yet when you meet David, what stays with you isn’t simply what happened to him.

It’s the fact that he kept going.

He stayed connected to life, kept his warmth and kept showing up — even while carrying something that had changed the way he smiled.

When David came to Vera Smile, his journey began with rebuilding his smile after tooth loss. Smile restoration and rehabilitation can involve very different treatment approaches depending on the condition of the remaining teeth, bone structure, oral health and individual needs, which is why each treatment plan needs to be considered individually.

But David’s story is difficult to reduce to dental terminology.

Because eventually came the moment when he saw himself differently.

And he cried.

So yes, we love his new smile. But we might love the person wearing it even more.
