So, do teeth really shine like diamonds after a dental scaling?

The purpose of dental scaling isn’t to whiten teeth; it’s to remove tartar and plaque buildup from the tooth surfaces, giving the teeth a cleaner and smoother appearance. 🦷

If there are superficial stains and buildup on the teeth, they may appear brighter after the cleaning. However, professional cleaning is not the same as teeth whitening.

So, the bottom line: The “diamond effect” is a bit of a fantasy, but a clean and healthy smile is definitely real. ✨😄

We carried out a treatment process involving the use of a zirconia restoration in the upper jaw and an All-on-6 implant-supported zirconia restoration in the lower jaw to redefine the overall shape of the smile.

In this case, our goal was to holistically evaluate the harmony between the upper and lower jaws, the shape of the teeth, and the overall appearance of the smile, not merely to replace the teeth.

By taking advantage of the natural-looking appearance of zirconia, we achieved a result that harmonises with our patient’s face and smile. We hope our patient’s new smile brings her happiness. 🥰

One of the questions I get asked most often is: “Doctor, will I have a temporary tooth after my implant?” 🤔

The answer to this question isn’t actually the same for every patient. 😊

We decide whether to place a temporary tooth by evaluating the area where the implant is placed, the condition of the bone, aesthetic expectations, and the healing process. 📌

While we can preserve the aesthetic appearance with a temporary tooth on the same day for some patients, in
other cases we prefer to wait to ensure the implant heals properly. ✅

The key here is not to achieve a quick result, but to create the right treatment plan so that the implant can be used healthily for many years to come. 🦷

Every patient’s needs are different; therefore, implant treatment must always be planned on an individual basis. 🙌
