Successfully completed a complex dental rehabilitation for an international patient presenting with severe periodontitis-induced tooth mobility and aesthetic concerns. Our comprehensive treatment involved the strategic placement of 10 dental implants, followed by the restoration with high-quality zirconium crowns. During the intraoral examination of our patient, who was dissatisfied with the aesthetic appearance of their teeth, we noted that the old fillings were rough, incompatible, and overhanging. These restorations were pressing against the gums, leading to the accumulation of food debris, gingival bleeding, inflammation, and even halitosis. We removed the old fillings and placed six new composite bonding restorations. As a result, we not only enhanced the patient’s aesthetic appearance but also contributed to their overall health by providing restorations that are more harmonious with the gums, polished, and hygienic.

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots which are surgically inserted into the jawbone of patients with missing teeth. It has a higher cost in the short-term, but may save money in the longer-term.

Total edentulism:

In cases where a patient has no teeth left in the mouth, and if a removable denture can’t be used due to the gag reflex and insufficient retention of the prosthesis, dental implants may be the only fix to restore the patient’s natural chewing function, smile, and speaking ability.
