"Lots of gaps, didn't really smile."

That's how our patient described her starting point.

After reviewing her X-rays together, the treatment plan focused only on the teeth that needed work. Her lower front teeth were healthy, so they were kept as they were, and a bridge was planned to close the gap.

Before choosing her final crowns, she tried several shapes and sizes. In the end she went for a natural look and a natural shade, so the new teeth would blend in with her own.

At the second-to-last fitting, the professor noticed the back teeth were slightly high and adjusted the bite. The several days spent here are for these checks and small tweaks, so that everything fits right.

Smile Makeover & Crossbite: What Changes When the Bite Is Addressed

A smile makeover is not only about the colour or shape of the teeth. In many cases, the way the upper and lower teeth meet — the bite — is just as important.

In this case, our patient presented with worn and chipped front teeth, discolouration, and a crossbite.

What is a crossbite?
A crossbite occurs when some upper teeth sit behind the lower teeth when the mouth is closed, instead of slightly in front of them. It can affect the front or back teeth. Over time, a crossbite may contribute to uneven tooth wear, chipping, gum stress, and changes in how the jaw functions. This is why it is evaluated as part of the treatment plan, not just the appearance of the teeth.

How was it planned?
After clinical and radiological examination, the treatment was planned to restore tooth form and length, re-establish a more balanced bite, and achieve a natural-looking result. Shade BL3 and a natural smile style were chosen together with the patient.

Our patient from Scotland came to us without teeth in both arches. Treatment was planned with All-on-6, a full-arch restoration in which a fixed bridge is supported by six implants.

The process was carried out in stages:
- Clinical and radiological examination and treatment planning
- Implant placement
- Healing period
- Fitting of the final fixed restorations

Smile Makeover | Zirconium Crowns

For the four front teeth, our patient chose a Natural design, keeping soft, gently defined edges in proportion with her facial features. The canines were given a slightly more oval contour, creating a smoother transition from the front of the smile to the sides.

The final shade, BL2, was selected by our patient in line with clinical recommendations.

Zirconium crowns were planned to bring tooth shape, proportion and colour into balance across the smile.

Losing several teeth rarely feels like just a dental problem. It changes how you eat, how you talk, and how often you smile in photos.
A full arch implant treatment is one way to replace a complete set of upper or lower teeth. A small number of implants support a fixed bridge, so the teeth don't come out at night like dentures do.
It isn't the right option for everyone. Bone volume, gum health and general health (conditions like diabetes, for example) all affect whether it's suitable and how it should be planned. That's why every case starts with a clinical examination and 3D scans, not a quote.
In most cases, patients first get fixed temporary teeth while the implants heal. The final teeth are fitted a few months later.
