Many of us aim to perform larger more complex reconstructive work for our patients. But performing a great restorative work is the foundation to all that. The focus on restorative work must be:
1. Great adhesion with no post op sensitivity.
2. Excellent contact with no food trap.
3. Proper occlusal management with no high nor under bite for maintenance of occlusion.
4. Absence of overhangs for long term health of the surrounding tissues.

Of great importance is the careful removal of caries extending to DEJ that we can miss if not vigilant. This takes time and continuous rechecking to make sure all is removed.
