Healthcare makes its greatest impact when it reaches communities who need it most ❤️‍🩹

Proud of our two DSAs, Karyn and Kwee Hong (“Tang”), who joined fellow NUHS volunteers on this meaningful medical mission to Hambantota, Sri Lanka, serving with compassion, humility and unwavering dedication.

Dry mouth (xerostomia) is more than just discomfort - saliva is your mouth’s natural defence system. It washes away food debris, neutralises acids, and helps remineralise enamel.

Many everyday medications reduce saliva flow, including:
💊Antihistamines
💊Antidepressants
💊Blood‑pressure medications
💊Asthma inhalers

When saliva drops, cavity risk rises quickly because acids stay longer on tooth surfaces and bacteria multiply faster.
