National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS) successfully wrapped up the Basic Facial Esthetics Course last month.

This Singapore Dental Council (SDC) - accredited Certificate of Competence (COC) course equipped fully registered dentists with advanced skills in oral and maxillofacial injectable treatments using Botulinum Toxin A. Led by a team of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons in collaboration with Royce Dental Academy — NDCS’s Dr Teo Guo Nian, with Dr William Lim and Dr Teo Kai Wen from Royce — the course was an immersive learning experience that integrated scientific knowledge, patient safety and real-world clinical practice.

Participants built a strong foundation in facial anatomy, pharmacology, clinical indications, contraindications and treatment planning and observed live demonstrations and performed supervised injections under close 1-to-1 mentorship.

The course concluded with an assessment and certification ceremony, marking a key milestone for participants advancing their expertise in facial esthetics.

NDCS’ Education unit recently had the privilege of having UK’s NHS Foundation Trust as well as KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital provide insights and expertise on how we can better care for children under our care. Invited speakers included Dr Joanna Johnson (Picture 1) from Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Assoc Prof Loh Tsee Foong (Picture 2) from KK Women's & Children's Hospital.

The lecture ended with a panel discussion moderated by Clinical Assistant Professor Yee Ruixiang, involving both speakers sharing their challenges, insights and expertise.

This was part of the inaugural Inter-Professional Education lectures organised for clinicians across the SingHealth cluster.
