That quick sharp pain when you bite down... then it disappears.

If it keeps coming back, don't ignore it.

Pain when chewing can have a number of causes, including cracks, decay, fillings, or bite-related stress on the tooth.

Sometimes a simple check-up can help identify what's going on.

One piece of chocolate. And suddenly one tooth feels... sensitive? 🍫

You are definitely not alone.

Sweet foods can trigger sensitivity for a few different reasons:

🦷 Worn enamel
⚡ Exposed dentin
🦷 Gum recession
🔍 Early stage cavity

Sensitivity toothpaste can ease the discomfort temporarily —but it doesn't fix the cause.

If it keeps coming back, feels stronger, or starts happening with cold drinks or chewing too — that's worth having checked.

Caught early, it's usually a simple fix.

Sometimes a toothache disappears not because the problem is gone but because the nerve inside the tooth is no longer responding.

Many people assume the tooth has healed once the pain stops. But in some cases, the pain may fade because the nerve inside the tooth has already been affected.

If a tooth was painful before and suddenly feels “fine,” it may still be worth getting checked, especially if:
• the discomfort comes and goes
• there’s pain when chewing
• there’s swelling
• the area still feels sensitive

Pain disappearing doesn’t always mean the problem disappeared too.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, it’s usually best to have it checked before it becomes painful again

Rainy days make hot coffee feel even better.

But if your teeth suddenly feel more sensitive during colder weather or rainy days, it's good to find out why. Changes in temperature and air pressure may make existing sensitivity feel more noticeable.

The weather itself usually isn’t the cause. It may simply highlight an underlying issue already there 👀

If a certain tooth has been bothering you lately with hot or cold drinks, it may be worth getting it checked.

Morning coffee runs in Tanjong Pagar.

Just walking from the MRT to the clinic alone, there are already so many coffee and tea spots along the way.

And honestly, we get it. Coffee is part of the daily routine for many of us (ourselves included).

Over time, drinks like coffee and tea can gradually cause some surface staining, especially with regular consumption. Thankfully, regular professional cleaning can often help keep stains under control and your teeth feeling fresher again.

Coffee first. Maintenance after ☕

That toothache that “went away on its own”?
It may not have actually gone away.

Sometimes, when a tooth is infected, the nerve can become inflamed and painful at first, then the pain may disappear.

It can feel like things have improved, but the underlying issue may still be there.

In some cases, the infection can continue quietly toward the root and surrounding bone.

By the time symptoms return, the situation may be more complex to manage.

If you’ve ever had tooth pain that suddenly stopped, it’s a good idea to have it checked.

A thorough clinical and radiographic exam can help assess what’s going on.
