Orthodontic emergencies can happen when you least expect them, but knowing how to respond can make all the difference.

If you sustain an injury to your mouth or teeth following an incident, seek prompt care from your nearest dentist or hospital emergency department. Once your injury has been treated, your orthodontist can assess and repair any damage to your braces.

For other orthodontic issues such as parts of the braces dropping off, or braces wire extending too long, you can use relief wax first to cover the wire and stabilise the braces before contacting your orthodontist for immediate care.
