Often dentists mention sugary food and drinks and poor oral hygiene as causes of oral diseases and certainly they are the main culprits. However, with the increased access to and consumption of diuretic drinks such as tea, coffee, energy drinks and alcohol, there is another risk factor to consider and that is the reduced salivary flow due to diurectics and how that impacts oral health too!

Dr Amit Patel graduated from the prestigious King's College London, U.K. in 2008 and has over 15 years experience working in London and Singapore and has undertaken a Masters in Aesthetic Dentistry at King’s College London. Previously Dr Patel has successfully completed examinations for the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons (England). He is a registered dentist both in Singapore and the U.K.

“I am fortunate to have the privilege of serving my patients both young and old, with a love for the work I do,” Dr. Patel says, “my principles lie in providing quality and being progressive”.

He has undertaken additional courses in
Orthodontics (braces), Progressive Orthodontic Seminars and CFast
Invisalign
Implant Dentistry

He is able to combine, the various disciplines of dentistry in order to fix the complex problems that come with dental pain, tooth decay, gum disease and missing teeth. Through his experience he has refined his skills in root canal treatment, wisdom tooth surgery and children’s dentistry, furthermore he takes on these cases with confidence. Above all he does his work gently and patiently.

Dr Patel, is indeed an approachable and family friendly dentist who aims to provide the best possible care for his patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. His patients' needs are truly at the heart of all the clinical decisions that he makes.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Patel enjoys numerous fitness challenges, some of which include reaching Mount Everest Base Camp, summiting Mount Rinjani and taking part in an IronMan70.3. He is British by birth, a dedicated husband and father, raising a young family in Singapore.
