“Maybe you’re not imagining it.”
Brain fog is one of the most common complaints I hear from patients and friends alike.
For some, it looks like forgetfulness.
For others, difficulty concentrating, finding words, making decisions, or simply feeling mentally exhausted.
For a long time, many people were told:
“You’re just stressed.”
“You’re getting older.”
“You’re doing too much.”
But science is showing us that cognitive symptoms are often influenced by multiple factors working together:
• stress
• sleep
• hormones
• inflammation
• metabolic health
• nervous system regulation
The body is an interconnected system.
When one area is struggling, other areas often feel the effects too.
And one area that is increasingly attracting scientific attention?
Chronic inflammation.
Including inflammation that may be hiding in the mouth.
