Today we would like to share with you some secret info.
Let´s talk about the production steps of glass ionomer cement GlassyCem before it gets to the dentist´s table.
• TehnoDent company buys the best raw materials and perform independently a melting process at the plant.
1) We charge the raw materials in special thermoresistant ceramic ladles which are placed into the muffle furnaces.
The melting process takes 6 hours at the temperature 1300 °.
2) The glowing glass is discharged in water and there is a granulas decay at shock cooling.
3) Granulas are grinded to 10 μm in particular grinding mills under the force of grinding balls made of zirconium oxide. The powder for glass ionomer cement is ready for use!
4) We use polyacrylic acid and tartaric acid for the liquid. The characteristic property of these components includes the ensuring of cement strength due to polyacrylic acid and the expanding of cement working time, however decreasing the cement curing time due to the tartaric acid.
• Especially we would like to note an important thing: while melting we add fluorine-based components. The glass ionomer cement GlassyCem has a high level of fluorine excrete as worldwide known Fuji IX. What is the result? The filling made of glass ionomer cement will continuously extricate the fluorine ions ensuring an anticariogenic effect and prevention of secondary decay and also it will cumulate fluorine from tooth pastes and oral rinses («glass ionomer cement battery effect»).
• This year we enhanced GlassyCem to facilitate a mixing procedure for you. Now there is a following ratio of powder and liquid 1:1 (1 measuring spoon of powder and 1 drop of liquid).
