🇬🇧 INSIDE OUT: Transillumination, the game changer for resin infiltration 🔦✨🦷

More than 10 years ago, I started doing resin infiltration. Some cases gave amazing results, others left me frustrated with outcomes that didn’t quite match my expectations.

Like in any field of dentistry, proper diagnosis is the 🔑 ! Transillumination really changed my way of working, seeing the true depth and extent of a lesion, before and during treatment, helped me a lot with how I plan, how I communicate with my patients, and in the end what I could actually deliver, without touching a bur (only for polishing). Became a simpler, less invasive procedure, with just air-abrasion, resin and ⏰

Há mais de 10 anos comecei a fazer resina de infiltração. Alguns casos deram resultados fantásticos, outros deixaram-me frustrada, com resultados que não correspondiam bem às minhas expectativas. Como em qualquer área da Medicina Dentária, o diagnóstico correcto é a 🔑! A transiluminação mudou a forma como trabalho, ver a verdadeira profundidade e extensão da lesão, antes e durante o tratamento, ajudou-me muito na forma como planeio, como comunico com os meus pacientes e, no final, no que consigo entregar, sem tocar na broca (só para polir). Tornou-se um procedimento mais simples e menos invasivo, apenas com air-abrasion, resina e ⏰

This patient felt that her smile looked a bit too “childish,” but she was also afraid of changing too much and no longer recognizing herself. Her goal was to achieve a natural, harmonious smile.

To accomplish that, we designed a treatment plan with a team approach, guided by the mock-up

Working in a cleaner, more relaxed field makes life easier and safer for both dentist and patient. A dry field means improved bonding, smoother procedures, and more predictable results.

Not everyone likes the same, and not all veneers are the same.

Enquanto alguns pacientes procuram dentes muito brancos, outros preferem algo mais natural e discreto.

Esta paciente veio ter comigo há quase 10 anos. A sua principal preocupação era evitar um resultado artificial, mas queria recuperar o seu sorriso, alterado ao longo dos anos pela erosão. A perda de esmalte deixou os seus dentes mais amarelados e os bordos incisais mais acinzentados, características que a desagradavam.

Neste caso, como em todos, Personalização é a chave!

While some patients ask for white teeth, others are looking for something seamless and natural.

This patient came to me almost 10 years ago. Her main concern was to avoid an artificial look while restoring her smile. Years of erosion had led to enamel loss, making her teeth appear more yellow overall and her incisal edges more greyish.

In this case, like in all, Customization is key!
