Another example of 3-on-6 Dental Implants Smile, but additionally re-using 2 upper and 4 lower own teeth roots. They were deeply rooted enough in the jaw bone to be restored and not extraced. Now, they can function as extra support together with the implants for a new set of teeth in form of 3 separate bridges for easier hygiene and mantainance in the future. Example of "All on 6 Implants Smile" protocol that is used to replace missing teeth in the upper or/and lower jaw. This procedure is recommended for patients whose teeth cannot be restored and require multiple extractions (as in this case) or patients have no teeth remaining and are wearing removable dentures. Unfortunately, full dentures are not very stable nor comfortable and do not stimulate the jawbone (as teeth roots do) consequently leading to bone loss and facial collapse. That is why implant posts, i.e. "screws", which replace the root parts of natural teeth, are so far the best know solution to restore bone stimulation and a new securely fixed SMILE 😁

This patient came to us too late to restore his own natural teeth, so there was not much one could do besides removing the remaining ones and replacing the with an upper all-on-6 and lower all-on-4 dental implants fixed full ceramic bridge. A second chance, but one must change bad habits and keep a good oral hygiene for it to work for years to come as implants can also fail, if neglected.

In this case, the patient was not satisfied with the shape, size and length of this teeth, especially upper, and was interested in composite bonding (i.e. applying tooth-colored composite resin to conceal imperfections such as chipped, cracked, or discoloured teeth).

However, it was not possible to correct the upper and lower teeth and occlusion (the relation between them) with composite bonding alone since it can only be used for minor corrections.

Therefore, after bite registration and DSD (Digital Smile Design) the upper teeth were covered with zirconia (full ceramic) crowns, which allowed for the required occlusal corrections and closing the gap, and the lower teeth build up with flow injection (i.e. applying composite bonding on multiple teeth with the use of DSD designed 3D silicone molds for an accurate and predictable result).
