Do your gums bleed when you brush ?

Healthy gums don't bleed, so if you see any blood when you brush or floss your teeth, this can be a sign of gum disease. If left untreated the problem could get worse, leading to bad breath, red and swollen gums, receding gums and eventually even tooth loss.

Brushing or mouthwash ?

Mouthwash doesn't replace brushing your teeth or flossing in terms of oral hygiene, and it's only effective when used correctly.
Brushing your teeth is effective against plaque, adding mouthwash to the mix can be more effective than just brushing alone.

Using mouthwash as a substitute to brushing, or even more often than recommended, may actually cause additional damage. Many mouthwashes contain some level of alcohol.

However, in the right circumstances, it's excellent. For example in between meals when you don't brush the use mouthwash provides protection.
