The Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) has issued an important statement emphasizing patient safety and professional standards in dentistry.

Dental technologists play a vital role in the fabrication of dental prostheses in laboratories, but clinical procedures, diagnosis, and patient treatment must only be performed by licensed dentists. Allowing non-clinicians to perform clinical dental procedures poses a serious risk to public health and violates established healthcare standards.

PDA has urged the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to take strict regulatory action against illegal practices and to ensure that dental care in Pakistan is delivered only by qualified and licensed professionals.

Patient safety must always remain the top priority.
