Certainly! Recognizing employees’ and students hard work and dedication is essential for fostering a supportive and productive workplace as well as a positive appreciation affects learning. On 13th June 2024, College of Dentistry, Sharif Medical and Dental College organised a ceremony for Paramedical staff, House Officers and high achievers in professional exams sponsored by platinum pharma.
Certificates and cash prizes were distributed to top 3 paramedical staff of the year. Certificates were also awarded to best house officers (male and female) of the year, position holders of professional examination and the team of platinum pharma.

Sharif Medical and Dental College recently held the convocation ceremony on 24th February 2024 of its 5 batches.
Mr. Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Current Prime Minister of Pakistan was the event's chief guest. Former Prime Minister and Chairman Sharif Trust Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Mrs Maryam Nawaz Sharif (current Chief Minister of Punjab), Governor Punjab and the Chancellor University of Health Science Mr. Baligh-ur-Rehman, and Vice Chancellor of University of Health Sciences Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore also graced the event with their presence.
Honourable chief guests and worthy guests awarded high achievers with medals and certificates. Chief Executive SMDC, Dr. Adnan Khan, Honorable Principal SMDC, Prof. Nausheen Raza, and Honourable Principal College of Dentistry, SMDC, Prof. Nauman Rauf Khan, awarded the graduates with their degrees.

We announce with great pleasure that Sharif Medical and Dental College, Lahore has acquired the top position of UHS merit list amongst all the private medical and dental colleges of Punjab.
The closing merit for MBBS was 89.3% and for BDS was 81.4%
We are thankful to all our teaching and supporting staff for their hardwork and tireless efforts without which it was not possible.

On June 15, 2023, the College of Dentistry, Sharif Medical and Dental College, Lahore held an employee appreciation ceremony. College of Dentistry (COD) want to express its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined this Employee Appreciation Ceremony. It was an unforgettable event filled with joy, recognition, and appreciation for its exceptional team. The ceremony was a true testament to the remarkable contributions each of you has made to this organizations success. COD took this opportunity to honor the hard work, dedication, and outstanding talents that have propelled the institute forward. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and COD is immensely proud of its incredible team.
In this ceremony, Cash prizes/ gift hampers/ certificates were awarded to the best top 3 dental assistants and best house officer for the session of 2022-2023. Among the Dental Assistants, the 1st prize was awarded to Mr. M Imran (prosthodontics), 2nd to Mr. M Rashid (Orthodontics), and 3rd was given to Mr. Hassan Riaz (Community Dentistry). Best House Surgeon award was given to both Dr. Zahid Hashir and Dr. Minahil Abbas.
Each Member of the Task Force Team Committee received a token of appreciation as well.
Mr. M Nabeel (Sub-Engineer) was given a special award for his dedication and hard work.

Medically compromised patients are individuals who have one or more underlying medical conditions that put them at a higher risk of experiencing adverse health events. These conditions can range from chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory problems, to more acute medical conditions such as recent surgery, infections, or injury. In general, medically compromised patients require closer monitoring and more cautious medical management to ensure their well-being.

It's important for healthcare providers to be aware of a patient's medical history and any conditions that may affect their care. This information can help doctors to device treatment plans, make decisions about which medications and procedures are appropriate, anticipate and manage potential complications. for this purpose College of Dentistry, SMDC arranged special lecture on titled "Dentistry in medically compromised patients" from renowned guest speaker Dr Kashif Hafeez BDS,MFDRCS (Ireland), FFDRCS (Ireland), FDSRCS (Edinburgh), PG Cert Med Ed (Oxford), FDTFRCS (Edinburgh), FCGDent (UK), PG Cert Ment Leader & Couch (UK).

One Day Educational Activity was held in College of Dentistry, Sharif Medical and Dental college, Lahore sponsored by GSK. Students, House Officers and Faculty members of College of Dentistry, were invited to participate in this activity. The theme of the activity was 'Dentinal Hypersensitivity & Gum Disease'
Following activities were held.
1.Presentations on:
•'Etiology & Management of Dentinal Hypersensitivity & Bleeding Gums' by Dr.Sarmad Saif, Senior Registrar,Department of Periodontology.
•'Pharmaceutical agents used to treat Dentinal Hypersensitivity & Gum Disease' By Mr. Muhammad Ejaz, Senior Regional Detailing Manager, GSK.

2.Chill Test Stall was installed for Dentinal Hypersensitivity Check up for all the participants.
