A Brave Little Star ✨🦷

Our 4-year-old brave star visited us with an on-and-off complaint of a pustule associated with tooth 61. Clinical and radiographic examination revealed a carious tooth with a periapical infection.

To preserve the primary tooth and eliminate the infection, a pulpectomy was planned and completed in stages:

• Visit 1: Cleaning and thorough disinfection of the root canal, followed by placement of an intracanal medicament.
• Visit 2: Completion of the pulpectomy using ZOE as the root canal filling material, followed by a GIC base.
• Visit 3: Once complete healing of the periapical lesion was confirmed, the tooth was restored with composite to regain aesthetics.

The most heartwarming part? 🤍

This little star was incredibly brave, MashaAllah. The entire procedure was carried out under local anaesthesia, and throughout every visit, she kept softly humming nursery rhymes to herself. Without anyone prompting her, she found her own little way to stay calm and relaxed. After completion of the procedure, we showed her the tooth in the mirror, and she said something interesting, which neither me nor her parents expected :
" ab doosra wala bhi theek kar dain " | " now fix the other tooth also "

Children often surprise us with their resilience. With patience, kindness, and a gentle approach, even young patients can have a positive dental experience.

Over time, my understanding of dentistry has evolved, and with every patient I see, my respect for General Dentistry continues to grow.

One thing I have come to appreciate over the years is that every meaningful journey begins with a vision.

Working closely with growing organisations has given me immense respect for those who remain committed to their vision despite challenges MashaAllah. What many people do not see are the sacrifices behind the scenes—the investment of time, resources, and the patience required to keep moving forward when outcomes are uncertain.

In Pakistan especially, building something meaningful often means making the most of limited resources while continuing to strive for excellence. It requires resilience, adaptability, and a team of people who believe in the vision enough to keep showing up every day.

There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing that vision come full circle—when a patient benefits, a customer is satisfied, or a service genuinely improves someone's life.
