Poor Oral Hygiene: Not brushing and flossing regularly allows plaque to build up and bacteria to thrive, leading to tooth decay.

Frequent Snacking: Constant eating, especially of sugary or starchy foods, provides more fuel for the bacteria in your mouth that cause cavities.
Sipping Sugary Drinks: Regular consumption of sugary beverages like sodas, juices, and sports drinks can lead to cavities.
High Sugar Intake: Diets high in sugar can increase the risk of tooth decay, as bacteria feed on sugar and produce acids that erode tooth enamel.
Teeth Grinding (Bruxism): This habit can wear down the enamel, making teeth more susceptible to decay.
Inadequate Fluoride Exposure: Fluoride helps prevent decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth.
To prevent dental caries, it’s important to maintain good oral hygiene, limit sugary foods and drinks, and visit the dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings. Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, and using mouthwash can also help protect your teeth from decay.
