Dentures Used to be Made From Dead People's Teeth:

Teeth from the recently deceased, often soldiers who had died in battle, were considered valuable due to their relatively healthy condition.

Most soldiers tend to be rather young, after all.

The teeth would be removed, cleaned, and fitted into a base made from materials like ivory to create dentures.

One famous example is after the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, where thousands of fallen soldiers' teeth were collected and sold to dentists, earning them the nickname "Waterloo teeth."

Fortunately, modern dentistry has advanced significantly, and today’s dentures are made from acrylic, porcelain, or resin, eliminating the need for such macabre methods.
