Expectation vs Reality — A Dentist’s Life!

In our minds, dentistry looks calm, comfortable and perfectly positioned.

But in reality?
We lean. We stretch. We twist. We squeeze into every possible angle, all to get that perfect view and give our patients the best possible care!

Because behind every precise dental treatment is a dentist doing some serious gymnastics. 🧑‍⚕️🦷

We may not always look comfortable… but your comfort and quality of care always come first! ❤️

Expectation: 14–16 inches away.
Reality: “Just a little closer…” 😂

Most people chew gum for breath. Dentists recommend it for a different reason.

Dentists often recommend sugar-free gum because chewing rapidly stimulates saliva — your mouth’s natural defense system. Saliva helps wash away food debris, dilute harmful acids, and protect tooth enamel after eating.

This saliva surge neutralizes plaque acids that temporarily soften enamel. It also delivers calcium and phosphate, essential minerals that support enamel remineralization and help strengthen vulnerable tooth surfaces.

Gums sweetened with xylitol offer added benefits. Xylitol disrupts cavity-causing bacteria, reducing their ability to grow and stick to teeth, supporting a healthier oral biofilm.

Chew one piece for about 20 minutes after meals, especially when brushing isn’t possible. Choose products with the ADA Seal of Acceptance — and remember, sugar-free gum supports oral health but never replaces brushing and flossing.

Did your dentist ever recommend this to you?
