Toothfairies' hearts ... 😭💔🦷

Iloilo 1st district representative Janette Garin said on Friday that most Filipinos are not aware of the importance of dental care, noting that many would rather prioritize other things like vanity and makeup.

She cited the low number of local government units that focus on dental care by hiring dentists and actually supporting them, as one of the factors for many Filipinos' seeming lack of awareness on the matter.

She also looked back on her time as Health secretary, "What we actually did was collaborate with Department of Education and Department of Interior and Local Government [and] provided dental buses to the provinces and municipalities that can be used on a rotation basis among municipalities."

Garin, who also is the vice chair of House Committee on Health, noted as well that rising prices of commodities make Filipinos set aside dental care.
