Some tooth extractions can be more complex than they appear. This case involved an ankylosed root (fused to the surrounding bone) with little to no visible periodontal ligament (PDL) space on the radiograph. Due to its position and the absence of direct visibility during the procedure, retrieval required careful assessment, proper surgical technique, precision, and patience.
Despite the challenge, the retained root fragment was successfully located and removed, helping prevent future discomfort and complications.
