Impacted teeth can bring about serious complications. It is important to have yourself checked if you have any. Wisdom teeth or third molars are not the only ones that could be impacted, there are other teeth that are at risk of not erupting into proper position.

No symptoms or "pain free" doesn't mean it's fine. Severe effects could show up sooner or later; treatment may get complicated afterwards. Problems could be prevented or minimized with timely and proper management.
