Clicking jaw? Cracked filling?
When the bite is unbalanced, certain teeth take the full load of every chew. Restorations can fracture repeatedly. The jaw joists compensates and eventually protests.
Replacing the filling/crown only won't fix the problem. Adjusting the bite helps.
We won't replace until we understand why it kept failing.

A lot of patients hear that and assume it's settled. Sometimes it is — removing premolars is a legitimate approach, and in some cases the right one. Often, it's worth one more conversation.

We start somewhere else. We start with why it's happening.
Because recession is rarely one thing. It's usually a combination — gum disease, brushing habits, and how your bite distributes force. And a treatment that ignores the cause doesn't hold. The recession comes back. The patient does the same procedure twice.

When her gums started receding, she did what most patients do. She searched for answers. That search led her to Dr. Marie.

She's Filipino, based in Canada. So when she finally flew home, she made Oraderm her first stop — dental care and a homecoming all in one trip. 🇵🇭

During her assessment we found the cause. Years of incorrect brushing technique and using bristles that were too hard. Simple reason, but a habit that's difficult to break.

She had the Pinhole Surgical Technique done here. No cutting. No stitches. She spent the rest of her trip enjoying the Philippine islands and flew back to Canada with her gums restored and a soft-bristled toothbrush!

There's another option, no cutting & no stitches. It's called the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST)

In 2016, Dr. Marie trained directly under Dr. John Chao, the dentist who invented it — and brought this technique back to the Philippines.
