FACIAL SWELLING due to Dental Infection 😷🦷

Dental infections can progress beyond the affected tooth and spread into adjacent soft tissues that may result in pain, facial swelling, fever, and potential systemic complications if left untreated. Prompt diagnosis and appropriate dental management are essential to control the infection, relieve symptoms, and prevent further spread.

Case 1
Patient presented with significant facial swelling secondary to a dental infection. The swelling is consistent with an odontogenic source and is associated with inflammation of the surrounding facial tissues. Upon examination, the infection that caused facial swelling is coming from her right upper front tooth. Radiographically, the other 2 upper teeth have also infection. Root canal treatments for the 3 teeth were done.
