WHY DOES A TOOTH CHANGE COLOR? π¦·
Tooth discoloration can happen for different reasonsβand the color itself can sometimes give clues about whatβs happening.
πΉ Pulp necrosis may cause a tooth to appear gray or dark gray.
πΉ Calcification may result in white or yellowish changes.
πΉ Internal resorption can produce a pink, reddish, or gray appearance.
πΉ Tetracycline-related discoloration may appear gray, blue, or brown.
But remember: color alone cannot confirm a diagnosis.
A proper dental assessment is important to determine the cause and the most appropriate treatment.
So if you notice a tooth that looks noticeably different from the others, don't simply cover it upβhave it checked.
π Know the cause. Get the right care. Protect your smile.
