2025 was indeed a challenging year for us, both physically and financially. Increasing expenses and decreasing sales had us worried month in and month out. I myself am questioning if we should continue practicing dentistry, as other businesses / careers may better reward us financially. We had gone as far as discussing moving to the province, as expenses may drastically go down while dental services will be more profitable than Quezon City’s.
But then, who will serve our community? I believe we are the only dental clinic in the area who can speak in Mandarin and Hokkien AND still charge reasonable rates (I mean, if you work corporate, you would be paid double or even triple if you speak Mandarin. Not in our case, though).
Did I ask my wife if we can increase our fees? Theresa calmly rejected the idea, as she believes that dental care should be accessible to everyone, both for the rich and less rich. No preferential treatment. No compromises.
As we approach the 2026 Lunar New Year, I hope and pray that you continue to support our advocacy for better dental health for everyone. Please don’t use fake PWD cards. Please avoid asking for discounts. If you can afford to buy luxury vehicles, you can afford to pay for a 900-peso oral prophylaxis (as of Feb 18, 2026). Take care of us, and we will surely take care of your oral health, too.
Happy 2026 Lunar New Year. We will always welcome you with warm smiles, and we hope you leave our clinic happy, too.
