Why do Dentists often discourage tooth extraction in the late afternoon or evening❓🤔

1. Increased Bleeding Risk
-The body’s natural circadian rhythm affects blood clotting, and research suggests that clotting is more efficient in the morning than in the evening. This can mean a higher risk of prolonged bleeding and slower clot formation after an extraction later in the day.

2. Slower Healing & Recovery
-Healing tends to be more effective earlier in the day when the body is more active. Metabolism and immune responses slow down in the evening, potentially delaying the healing process.

3. Higher Pain Sensitivity
-Studies indicate that pain perception increases in the evening due to changes in body temperature and hormone levels, making the post-extraction experience more uncomfortable.

4. Emergency Availability
-If complications arise (such as excessive bleeding or dry socket), dental clinics may be closed or understaffed in the evening, making immediate assistance harder to access.

5. Fatigue & Stress
-Patients and dentists are often more fatigued in the late afternoon and evening, which could impact both the patient’s comfort and the dentist’s precision during the procedure.
