These wedge-shaped grooves near the gumline are called abfraction lesions—a type of non-carious cervical lesion (NCCL). They're caused by tooth flexure from grinding (bruxism) or a misaligned bite, which creates microfractures in enamel and dentin. Over time, abrasive brushing or acidic exposure can worsen the damage. Even if painless, they weaken tooth structure, trap plaque, and may lead to sensitivity or fractures. Treatment involves correcting bite forces (e.g., night guard), gentle brushing, and possibly restoring the area with composite or glass ionomer. Early management preserves tooth health, prevents complications, and avoids more invasive treatments later.

Due to the increasing number of covid-19 positive patients in our city, we are implementing a new protocol in our clinic. We are encouraging our patients to get vaccinated. For unvaccinated individuals who wish to make an appointment must secure a negative antigen test result before the appointment. Be protected, get vaccinated!

We will resume normal operations starting June 7, 2021. Routine dental procedures such as tooth extraction/bunot, restoration/pasta, cleaning/linis and other dental procedures will be accepted for scheduling.

Please note that we are following strict health protocols in our clinic. If you have any exposure with any confirmed/suspected covid patient and has flu-like symptoms, please defer from making an appointment and follow guidelines such as self-quarantine and having yourself tested for covid-19. If you have a chance to get vaccinated, please do so.
