The first 24 hours after a tooth extraction are critical for proper healing.

Your body forms a protective blood clot inside the socket. If this clot gets disturbed, healing can become painful and delayed.

For the first 24 hours:
• Bite on gauze as advised
• Don’t rinse or spit forcefully
• Avoid smoking and to***co
• Don’t use a straw
• Eat soft foods only
• Apply ice packs for swelling
• Take medicines exactly as prescribed

After 24 hours:
• Start gentle warm salt water rinses 3–4 times daily
This helps keep the area clean and supports healing.

Mild bleeding and swelling are normal initially.

But severe pain, bad smell, pus, fever, or continuous bleeding should never be ignored.

Good aftercare can make recovery faster, smoother, and far less painful.

Save this post — it may help someone heal properly after a tooth extraction or wisdom tooth removal.

In the quiet of this Good Friday, we remember the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a day to pause, reflect, and find gratitude in the grace we’ve been given. Let us carry the lessons of love and humility in our hearts today. 🕊️✨

It’s common for teeth to feel a bit loose after a professional dental cleaning, especially if it has been a while since your last session. This sensation is often misunderstood, but it doesn’t mean the procedure caused any harm.

Scaling removes hardened tartar that can deceptively “support” teeth while underlying bacteria continue to damage gums and bone. Once the tartar is removed, existing damage may become apparent, creating the impression of looseness. This is often the first step toward healing, as gums can recover, inflammation subsides, and natural support begins to rebuild.

Professional cleaning does not weaken teeth or enamel. On the contrary, regular scaling protects long-term oral health. Mild mobility after cleaning is usually temporary, and avoiding cleanings can accelerate gum disease and increase the risk of tooth loss.

If your child’s baby teeth have small gaps between them, that is usually a healthy developmental sign.

Primary teeth are naturally smaller than permanent teeth. The spaces you see are not “gaps to fix” — they are biological room reserved for the larger adult teeth that will erupt later. This is part of normal jaw growth and helps reduce the risk of crowding during the mixed dentition stage.

When baby teeth sit tightly together with no spacing, the jaw may not have enough room for the wider permanent incisors. Studies show that closed contacts in primary teeth are associated with a higher probability of future crowding. It does not guarantee braces — but it is an early risk indicator dentists monitor.

Early dental visits allow us to track jaw development, eruption patterns, oral habits, and airway health. Monitoring growth at the right time is far more effective than waiting until crowding becomes obvious.
