Excessive pressure, stiff bristles, or aggressive scrubbing can wear away the enamel and push the gums back, exposing the root surface. This can lead to:

Two common build-ups, two very different things 🦷〽️

You know that slimy, fuzzy feeling you get on your teeth after you eat and you haven't brushed yet? That's Plaque. That soft, pale yellow film is a build-up of food debris and bacteria that clings to your teeth daily, causing your gums to bleed. Brushing and flossing can easily get rid of this, so keeping it in check is easy at home 💯

When plaque is left on the teeth even for just a day or two (specially in between if you don't floss!), it can calcify and turn into Tartar or Calculus. These hard, yellow or brown deposits that build up over time are difficult to remove and requires special dental equipment by your dentist. If left untreated, this can cause severe gum and bone disease 🤕
