Patients can expect some pain, swelling, and jaw stiffness for a few days, managed with pain relievers, with full recovery taking longer for surgical cases than simple extractions, emphasizing following post-op instructions for proper healing.

What is it?
A surgical tooth removal, usually for impacted wisdom teeth that are stuck in the jawbone.
It's more involved than a simple extraction, often requiring gum to be moved and bone to be removed for access.

Does it hurt?
No, you won't feel pain during the procedure due to local anesthesia; you'll remain awake but numb.
Sedation (general anesthesia) might be used for more complex cases, making you unconscious.

What's the procedure like?
X-rays are taken to see the tooth's position and roots.
The dentist/surgeon makes an incision in the gum, removes the tooth (sometimes in pieces), and places stitches.
