Oral Health Tips
✅Drink More Water - Water continues to be the best beverage when it comes to overall health, including oral health. It helps wash out some of the negative effects of sticky and acidic foods and other beverages in between brushes.
✅Do not smoke - Smoking, per se, is dangerous to your health, which heavily impacts your oral health as well. People who smoke are at risk of developing mouth cancer, gum problems, loosing teeth, decay on the roots of teeth, and complications after tooth removal and oral surgery.
✅Use Mouthwash - This is a necessary for a good oral health. Mouthwash helps in three ways: It reduces the acid in the mouth; Cleans hard to brush areas in and around gums; and it re-mineralizes the teeth.
✅Brush your Teeth Regularly - Experts recommend that people should brush their teeth at least twice a day. Brushing gets rid of germs, bacteria, and plaque that accumulate throughout the day and night.
✅Use Dental Floss - Flossing can be difficult, but it is a necessity that should not be neglected. Flossing is not just for getting little pieces of food that may be getting stuck in between your teeth, it stimulates your gums, reduces plaque, and help lower inflammation in the area.
✅Limit Coffee and Tea - Drinking coffee and tea is not bad for your oral health if taken at moderation, but excessive drinking can leave your teeth damaged. Not only will you notice more yellowish stains on your teeth over time, but the tannins found in caffeine also destroys your teeth's enamel. This leads to plaque to form and encourage bacterial growth, which could lead to cavities, and other periodontal diseases.
Lastly,
✅Visit your Dentist regularly - Your everyday habits are crucial to your oral health, but even the most dutiful brushers and flossers need to see a dentist regularly. At a minimum, you should see your dentist at least twice a year. You deserve special treatment too!
