For quite some time, this patient had been living with persistent swelling above the front teeth, struggling to find a clear solution.
Following a thorough clinical examination and 3D imaging, we recommended surgical removal of the cystic lesion together with the associated impacted tooth.
But removing the lesion was only part of the treatment. ๐ช๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ผ ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฒ๐

The removed tissue was submitted for biopsy because even advanced imaging cannot definitively identify the nature of a cystic lesion. Microscopic examination helps establish the diagnosis and rule out other conditions that may require different management.
The results came back ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฎ ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฐ๐๐๐, a benign cyst that develops around an unerupted tooth. Although benign, it can gradually enlarge, weaken the surrounding bone, and affect neighboring teeth.
Because the cyst had already caused significant bone loss, ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ณ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐๐ผ ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฑ to support bone regeneration and help restore the affected area.
Following surgery, the patient's long standing swelling had resolved.
