A 31 year old male patient was experiencing pain on the lower right jaw for a week and came into the clinic with no relevant medical history.
Upon examination and with the help of an x-ray, tooth 48 was found to be partially erupted with a large carious lesion affecting the tooth beside it.
The agreed treatment was surgical removal of tooth 48 and 47. The teeth was removed under local anesthesia.
Removal of tooth 47 could have been avoided if only the wisdom tooth have been diagnosed and removed earlier. Your wisdom tooth is not that wise make sure to always have a check up with your dentist and have it removed (if needed) before it damaged your other teeth and cause you pain.
