Clear aligners (invisible braces)
Clear aligners are transparent, removable orthodontic trays used to straighten teeth gradually—an alternative to traditional metal braces.
How they work
You get a series of custom-made plastic trays
Each set is worn for about 1–2 weeks, then replaced with the next
Every tray makes small, controlled movements to your teeth over time
Treatment is usually planned digitally using 3D scans
Pros
Nearly invisible 👀
Removable (eat, brush, floss normally)
More comfortable than metal braces (no wires/brackets)
Fewer in-office visits in many cases
Cons
Must be worn 20–22 hours/day (discipline matters)
Can be less effective for severe or complex cases
May cause temporary speech changes or soreness
Easy to lose or forget
Who they’re best for
Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
Minor bite issues
Adults or teens who want a discreet option
