Our dear patient Mechaelle went to us for a consult for her impacted teeth. These have caused her on and off pain since the pandemic but she has been afraid to go to a dentist as a doctor told her she was allergic to lidocaine (dental anesthesia) sometime early 2020.
So it took years for her to search for someone to take her case, and she had been quite exhausted mentally after being rejected numerous times, with physical pain and anxiety to boot.
However, just be on the safe side, I referred her to an allergologist to confirm this said allergy to lidocaine. After hours of observation, she was deemed NOT allergic to the said anesthesia.
The fear she had all along, for five long years, was not even based on anything real.
She has since gone through odontectomy or surgical removal of one of her third molars, and possibly another one soon.
It is truly a happy day to finally know she is safe from any allergy dental wise, and can come to the clinic confident and knowing she is risk free.
