Late extraction?

Late extraction?

Why do Dentists often discourage tooth extraction in the late afternoon or evening❓🤔

1. Increased Bleeding Risk
-The body’s natural circadian rhythm affects blood clotting, and research suggests that clotting is more efficient in the morning than in the evening. This can mean a higher risk of prolonged bleeding and slower clot formation after an extraction later in the day.

2. Slower Healing & Recovery
-Healing tends to be more effective earlier in the day when the body is more active. Metabolism and immune responses slow down in the evening, potentially delaying the healing process.

3. Higher Pain Sensitivity
-Studies indicate that pain perception increases in the evening due to changes in body temperature and hormone levels, making the post-extraction experience more uncomfortable.

4. Emergency Availability
-If complications arise (such as excessive bleeding or dry socket), dental clinics may be closed or understaffed in the evening, making immediate assistance harder to access.

5. Fatigue & Stress
-Patients and dentists are often more fatigued in the late afternoon and evening, which could impact both the patient’s comfort and the dentist’s precision during the procedure.

Because of these factors, many dentists prefer scheduling extractions in the morning or early afternoon when conditions are more favorable for healing and patient safety.

❌❌ Huwag kang magpapa-braces kung:

𝟭. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗸𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

𝟮. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗸𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘀-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 / 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

𝟯. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗸𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗴-𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝟭–𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.
Tooth movement is slow and gradual. Hindi ito mabilisang fix. Kung naghahanap ka agad ng improvement o results in the first 3 months, iba ang procedure na para sa'yo.

𝟰. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗸𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝘆𝗴𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗲.
Food particles na nasstuck sa wires/brackets can cause cavities and bacterial growth in the long run.

Mabubulok ang ngipin kapag napabayaan that may lead to infections, or worse, extractions.

❌ 4. Delayed or worse treatment results

𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼, 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗸𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. ❌
Tandaan: Once a month lang kayo nagkikita ng dentista mo. The other 30 days?

‼️‼️‼️

Braces can fix your teeth alignment—but without proper care, they can increase the risk of cavities and gum disease.

Orthodontic brackets create plaque traps around every tooth. If cleaning isn’t precise, bacteria build up along the gumline and around brackets, leading to early white spot lesions (demineralization), cavities, and inflamed, bleeding gums. What may look like “just stains” during treatment can become permanent enamel damage once the braces are removed.

That’s why oral hygiene during braces matters more than ever. Cleaning around brackets, between teeth, and along the gums isn’t optional—it’s what protects your enamel while your teeth are moving. Straight teeth are important, but keeping them healthy is what truly defines a successful result.

Daily reminder ✨

“Next time nalang magpapa-adjust 😬”

🦷 1. Clean like a pro
Hindi pwedeng toothbrush lang 😆
Toothbrush + floss + mouthwash = iwas gingivitis & bad breath

⏰ 2. Monthly adjustment is a must
Skip mo ‘to? Expect mo rin na mabagal (or walang) progress 😬

😬 4. Wear your elastics!

🍗 5. Iwas sa matitigas na pagkain
Bye muna sa chicharon & matitigas na pagkain 🥲
Ayaw mo naman matanggalan ng bracket diba?

Reminder:
Kung gusto mo maagang matanggal braces mo… consistency is key 🔑🦷

Wisdom teeth extractions rank among the most common oral surgeries for adults. According to recent data, up to 70% of people develop at least one impacted wisdom tooth, leading to complications that justify removal.

1. Impaction and Pain:
When the jaw lacks sufficient space, wisdom teeth often grow at odd angles or remain partially trapped beneath the gum. This “impaction” can cause severe pain, swollen gums, and difficulty opening the mouth.

2. Infection (Pericoronitis):
Partially erupted teeth create pockets where bacteria thrive, resulting in repeated infections, bad breath, and fever. Pericoronitis affects nearly 20% of patients with lower wisdom teeth.

3. Damage to Adjacent Teeth:
Impacted molars can press against second molars, leading to enamel erosion, cavities, and even root resorption. Early removal protects healthy teeth.

4. Cysts and Tumors:
In rare cases, fluid-filled cysts form around unerupted wisdom teeth, damaging jaw bone and nerves if left untreated.

5. Orthodontic Stability:
Even straight wisdom teeth may be removed prophylactically to prevent crowding after braces or aligners.

Wisdom tooth extraction, when clinically indicated, prevents long-term damage and preserves overall oral health. Regular dental check‑ups and panoramic X‑rays at ages 17–25 can help identify problematic wisdom teeth early—ensuring safer, smoother extractions.
