Ancient hunter-gatherer humans generally had wide, well-developed jaws with enough room for all their teeth and suffered far fewer cases of crooked teeth, a pattern documented by researchers at University College Dublin.
Their tough, fibrous diets required vigorous chewing that stimulated jaw growth and helped align teeth properly.
In contrast, modern diets of soft, processed foods reduce chewing stress and can lead to smaller, narrower jaws that don’t provide enough space for all the teeth.
This change in jaw development is a major reason why malocclusion and impacted wisdom teeth are common today.
The findings from University College Dublin highlight how shifts in diet and lifestyle over human history have affected dental health and jaw structure.

Sore Throat at Sipon: Paano Nahahawa

Ang nakasasakal at makating pakiramdam sa iyong lalamunan ay isang pamilyar na palatandaan na ikaw ay magkakaroon ng sipon o trangkaso (influenza). Karamihan sa sore throat ay hindi naman nakapipinsala at kusa rin nawawala sa loob ng 5 hanggang 7 araw. Minsan maaaring bumili ng mga over-the-counter na gamot sa ubo para ito ay gumaling.
Karamihan sa sore throat ay dahil sa virus o bacteria na impeksyon. Ang mga virues at bacteria ay maaaring pumasok sa iyong bibig o ilong sa pamamagitan ng paglanghap ng particles mula sa pag-ubo o pag-bahing ng ibang tao. Pwede din na ikaw ay gumamit ng kutsara, tinidor, towel, laruan, doorknob, computer keyboard at telepono na gamit ng maysakit.
Ang sore throat ay maaaring sanhi ng allergy at dry air. Kapag ang sore throat ay mayroong kasamang pamamaga ng tonsil, ito ay tinatawag na tonsillitis.
Viral na Impeksyon:
Ang viruses ay kadalasan na pinanggagalingan ng sipon, trangkaso at sore throat. Ang sipon ay karaniwan na nawawala kapag ang iyong sistema ay nakabuo na ng antibodies laban sa virus na tumatagal ng 1 linggo.
Ang gamot na antibiotic ay hindi nakatutulong para gumaling ang viral infection. Ginagamit lang ang antibiotics sa bacterial infection, kung may lagnat, nana sa tonsils at maberdeng plema.
Kinakailangan lang ng panahon para tuluyan gumaling. Uminom ng maraming tubig, kumain ng prutas na mayaman sa vitamin C at magpahinga.
