The person who circumcised a 10-year-old boy at a lying-in clinic in Tondo, Manila and later died was not a registered doctor, a barangay official said.

The suspect was also arrested in 2023 by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group after using the name and license number of a legitimate doctor whom she had worked with over 20 years ago.

Lip tie is a condition where the skin of the upper lip is attached to the gums in a way that prevents lip movement and makes breastfeeding difficult for your baby.

If untreated, it may result to speech problems, sleep apnea, chewing and swallowing food. Additionally, children with a lip tie may have a noticeable gap in the front teeth or can have gum recession.
