SUPER FLU NA KUMAKALAT SA UK AT US, NA-DETECT SA PILIPINAS; MGA PASYENTE, RECOVERED NA - DOH

Kinumpirma ng Department of Health (DOH) na na-detect sa Pilipinas ang kumakalat na Subclade K o tinatawag na super flu.

Ayon kay DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa, 17 ang naitalang kaso nito sa bansa na karamihan ay nasa Metro Manila.

Sa bilang na ito, lahat ay recovered o magaling na ayon sa DOH.

Ang super flu ay mutated branch lamang ng Influenza A at hindi bagong virus na karaniwang sintomas nito ang sipon, lagnat, ubo, pananakit ng ulo, panginginig, at sore throat.

Bakit nga ba nasisira kaagad ang pasta sa ngipin kahit weeks/months pa lang? 🧐

Yes, opo — 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙖 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 5–10 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 (𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚) 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩. Pero minsan, it fails much earlier — and it’s not because “mali ang gawa ng dentista, o pangit ang materials.” Most of the time, it’s because of these common habits and conditions ni patient! 😳

🚫 Most common reasons:

1️⃣ Poking & Picking – Toothpicks, nails, or kung ano-anong pagtusok dahil lang naco-conscious ka can cause microcracks.

2️⃣ Biting Hard Stuff – Ice, hard candy, pen caps, or pagbubukas ng sachet gamit ngipin = stress fracture agad.

3️⃣ Poor Oral Hygiene – Plaque and bacteria can sneak under the filling, making it weak.

4️⃣ Teeth Grinding or Clenching – Puts extreme pressure that chips or loosens your pasta.

5️⃣ Weak Tooth Structure – Kung manipis na or malaki na ang sira, even the best filling won’t last long. It can also cause pain and sensitivity.

⚠️Remember: Hindi lahat ng ngipin pwedeng i-restore with pasta. If the damage is too deep or the structure is weak, you may need a crown, root canal, or extraction.

💡 Pro tip: Think of pasta as protection, not a forever fix. Take care if it, avoid bad habits, and keep up with dental checkups para tumagal. Hindi 'yan tulad ng natural tooth, artificial lang iyan. 💯

Two school of thought about 3rd molars.

•One school of thought is prophylactic removal of impacted/embedded 3rd molar
as preventive measurement. This approach focuses on stopping problems such as periodontal disease, dental caries, pericoronitis, root resorption on adjacent tooth, odontogenic cyst and tumors etc. before they occur.

•Another school of thought is therapeutic removal of impacted/embedded 3rd molar as curative measure. This approach deals with
solving problems after they arise. One example is a patient who already experiences pain or discomfort and is subjected for removal of 3rd molar for relief.

BUT AS A GENERAL RULE

-All impacted teeth should be removed
unless removal is contraindicated
-A fundamental precept of the
philosophy of dentistry is problem
should be prevented
-Preventive dentistry dictates that
impacted teeth be removed before
complications arises
