PUBLIC ADVISORY
Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1276, Wednesday, June 17, 2026 is hereby declared a Special (Non-Working) Day in the City of Lapu-Lapu in celebration of our 65th Charter Anniversary. As we commemorate this historic milestone under the theme, βCelebrating 65 Years of Service and Progress: Empowered by People, United in Purpose."
In line with this, there will be NO CLASSES at all levels in both public and private schools across Lapu-Lapu City.
I warmly invite every Oponganon to join us for the 65th Charter Day Program at 8:00 AM at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall Grounds. The celebration will also be broadcast live across our official social media pages.
As we celebrate 65 years since the Municipality of Opon became the City of Lapu-Lapu through Republic Act No. 3134 on June 17, 1961, let us honor the generations of Oponganons whose hard work, unity, and dedication have transformed our city into one of the countryβs leading centers of tourism, trade, and investment.
Happy 65th Charter Day Lapu-Lapu City!
