Controversial take: letting little kids brush their own teeth and calling it done doesn’t count.

Not because they’re not trying.
Because they don’t have the dexterity or the attention span to actually do it well.

Brushing isn’t just moving a toothbrush around for 10 seconds and sucking the toothpaste off 🙄

🪥 It’s getting along the gumline
🪥 It’s reaching the back teeth
🪥 It’s using the right angles to actually remove plaque

That type of proper brushing is NOT a toddler skill.

But we treat it like it is, and then act surprised when cavities show up.

Let them brush first. Go for it.
But if no adult is going back in after, those teeth aren’t actually getting clean.

You can call it independence, but independence doesn’t get teeth clean. Parents do. 🦷

Para sa successful na treatment, paki-basa po ang mga sumusunod. Please note na hindi po for fashion or status symbol ang braces, form of treatment po sya. 🤣🥰

1. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.
Kahit may dentist na nag-aalaga sa’yo, ikaw pa rin ang key sa success ng treatment mo. Your dentist will guide you—but your daily habits make the biggest impact. 🤭

2. 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗹.
Ugaliing mag-toothbrush pagkatapos kumain. Food easily gets stuck in brackets and wires, which can lead to cavities and gum disease. 🪥

3. 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆.
These tools clean the spots your toothbrush can’t reach. Kahit nakakatamad minsan, kailangan ito para maiwasan ang sira. 🦷

4. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆, 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱.
These can break your brackets or bend wires. Say no to chewing gum, popcorn, and hard candy. 🍭

5. 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.
Walang absent kay Doc! Missed appointments delay your progress and might cause setbacks. 🥲

6. 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆.
It kills bacteria, reduces plaque, and keeps your breath fresh. 🦠

7. 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱.
Sundin ang bilin ni Doc sa pagsuot ng elastics. Wearing them incorrectly or forgetting delays the alignment process. 🪢

8. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆.
Check for loose brackets or poking wires. Agad ipaalam kung may nasira o masakit. 🕵️‍♂️

9. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀.
Avoid biting nails, opening packaging, or chewing on pens. Masisira ang braces mo at masasaktan ka pa. 🛠️

10. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀.
Sugar causes plaque buildup and tooth decay—especially around brackets. Choose water and tooth-friendly snacks instead. 🥤

11. 𝗕𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁.
Hindi minamadali ang perfect smile. Proper care shortens treatment time and gives the best results. 🤩
