MEAW: Multi-Loop Edgewise Archwire technique

Correction of a case with excessive overjet, deepbite, and mandibular deficiency due to anodontia/congenitally missing 1 lower front tooth

DAW technique was used to intrude upper incisors, while MEAW technique was used for mandibular rotation and flattening posterior occlusal plane. It helps encourage the mandible to adapt to a more forward position, addressing the underlying skeletal discrepancy.

✔️Gingivoplasty (gum lift) was performed for the final touches 👌🏼
✔️Wrap around retainers and invisible retainers were also installed.

Palatal approach for the surgical removal of impacted maxillary canine with dilacerated root and sinus approximation ✨

Case analysis and localization of the tooth was precisely done with the advent of 3D Radscope derived from CBCT scan of the oral maxillofacial region.

Treatment options for impacted canine can be odontectomy/surgical removal or guided eruption with orthodontic braces. However, this case is contraindicated for exposure & orthodontic traction due to the severe dilaceration of the root, angulation of the tooth, and canine overlap with adjacent incisors. Therefore, odontectomy was performed. 🦷

Oral fistula also known as “gum boil” is a pimple-like bump in the gums, which is a common sign of chronic dental infection. Since an infection is the main cause, the fistula is unlikely to heal and disappear on its own. Treatment options include antibiotic therapy, drainage of abscess, root canal treatment, and tooth extraction.
However, the most conservative and actually the best option is Root canal treatment.

As final restoration, zirconia crown was placed after fiber post cementation. Adjacent teeth were also restored with composite, and the other lateral incisor’s old broken crown was also replaced with zirconia crown.

Another finished Orthodontic treatment. Case is mild crowding, with multiple spaces on lower arch. Fixed lingual retainers and Removable hawley retainers installed to maintain the alignment.
