X-rays are aid on better and accurate diagnosis, better diagnosis for better treatment planning, better treatment leads to better outcome.

So if thinking of getting an orthodontic treatment(braces), and one doesn't require x-ray, think twice. Negligence can cost you more that xray.

Once upon a time a p**o patient came to our clinic frighten to have any dental treatment, had difficulty convincing having his teeth cleaned and restored. But after his first treatment to our clinic he kept coming for dental restorations. Indeed our profession is difficult but very gratifying knowing we had a change of perspective into a child's mind.
